The Easter Bunny Was a SEO Guru

Those must be some really SEO eggs!

Just think of it. You’ve got all those little kids in their Sunday best, crawling around on their hands and knees to search for a bunch of painted eggs. Keep in mind these are the same kids who curl their lips at eggs on the breakfast table (especially if they’re served without ketsup). What makes those eggs so special?

We can learn a few things about SEO from the Easter Bunny:

  • Painted eggs create more buzz than runny breakfast-table eggs
  • The time invested in painting the eggs must be worth it
  • He spreads the eggs around so more kids can participate

Aside from being an SEO guru, the Easter Bunny knows a bit about marketing:

  • He establishes scarcity; there are only so many eggs so you’d better find yours now
  • He builds anticipation; kids are buzzing about the egg hunt long before it happens
  • He delivers as promised; the Easter Bunny comes every year, come rain or come shine

I mean, how many SEO’s do you know with that kind of a following? And don’t even get me started on how much outsourcing he does . . .

And don’t forget the Easter Bunny’s Maverick cousin, the Broccoli Bunny - I blogged about him recently. Instead of SEO, he teaches all about managing expectations. :)
Enjoy,

Barbara

Hi Darlene,

I appreciate the encouragement, thanks! I worry I’ll run out of ideas for my Internet Marketing Fairy Tales on eBuz’d but something keeps popping up. Hopefully I won’t get too far out in left field.

I see you’ve signed up for NaSEOMo. I hope it’s going to be fun . . . doubt I’ll do many fairy tales for it though. lol
